If we are Christians, are lives are hidden in Christ and we have eternal life with Him. Yet, there is still a battle going on and the battle is for our soul. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. How we think and how we feel has a huge impact on our will.
Take for instance a person that is continually bullied or abused, slowly their self-worth and self-esteem can become so low, they no longer have the will to live. Other people will often try to put themselves in the place of our judge and jury. They freely accuse and condemn.
This is how the enemy works. He came to steal, kill, and destroy our lives. But we remember that Jesus came that we may have life and have it to the full. .
When we submit ourselves to other people (false authority) we are allowing others to dictate our worth, our identity and our truth. Another problem is if we are submitting to false authority, we won’t be walking in our own God-given authority. Remembering we all have one Father and one teacher as seen in Matt 23:9-10
We all know “the Truth sets us free” but we have to know the truth about who we are and even more important who we are in Him. We also have to stop submitting to the lies.
We are to submit to God/truth and resist the devil/lies and he will flee from us. Satan will flee from us because he can no longer hold us down and control us with his lies. He no longer has the power to effect us. Also, because we have made the choice to use our God-given authority to “cast him out.” He is toxic and so are his flying monkeys.
Here are some great verse about our authority in Christ.
“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” Romans 16:20
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:19
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death Rev 12:11
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. Rev 12:1
And this is who we are..
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God 2 Cor. 5:21
Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8:17
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father John 14:12
We have but one Father, one Judge and only one who has true authority over us. When we choose Christ, we now belong to Him and Him to us!
